The NY Post reports, "A Manhattan doctor who pulled a "mini-Astor" - scamming his 92-year-old mother out of more than a half-million dollars to bankroll a luxurious lifestyle - took a plea deal yesterday that will keep him out of jail.
Dr. Robin Motz, an internist at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, agreed to a deal giving him five years' probation and requiring 150 hours of community service."

Darin Blackburn

Laura Italiano of the NY Post reports, "A sticky-fingered Upper West Side bartender will be serving probation instead of drinks after pleading guilty yesterday to illegally charging $31,793.99 to the credit card of a famous customer - sax man David Sanborn.
Darin Blackburn, 40, had been a fixture behind the bar at Nick & Toni's Cafe on West 67th Street.
For a year and a half, the mixologist would be secretly delighted when Sanborn and other customers paid in cash. He'd pocket the money, then charge the tab to Sanborn's American Express card, which the restaurant kept on file."

Tenzing Bhutia

According to the NY Post, " He drank enough Sam Adams beer to hike his blood-alcohol level to twice the legal limit. Then he plowed his dad's new Mercedes into a beautiful, 24-year-old Scottish woman on The Bowery and sped away - home to bed - as she died in the street. For this, a 21-year-old finance major named Tenzing Bhutia was promised a two-year prison term yesterday. Bhutia was even allowed to remain free until his June 19 sentencing - that way, he'll get to finish his degree at Baruch College. "I put the blame for my daughter's death squarely in the hands of the US justice system," Bill Thomson said of the case involving his tragic only daughter, Julia, who died of massive head injuries in the predawn mow-down last September. "Driving under the influence is generally dealt with by a slap on the wrist as a first offense, so it fails to act as a deterrent," the grieving father told the Edinburgh Evening News in Scotland after learning of the sentence."

Jack Jordan

NY Post columnist Andrea Peyser writes, "Persistent sicko Jack Jordan, who ran a two-year campaign of love and terror against actress Uma Thurman, was convicted yesterday of stalking and aggravated harassment - but cleared of two additional counts of aggravated harassment." Jordan was handcuffed and taken from the court and sent to Rikers Island to await sentencing. He's seen for the last time entering court, moments before the jury's decesion.

David Ajemian

David Ajemian, "Conan O'Brien's creepy stalker priest got off yesterday with a slap on the wrist. The Catholic priest, who menacingly stalked the carrot-topped TV host from California to New York to Italy, walked out of Manhattan Supreme Court a free man after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge. His punishment: a $95 fine and a promise to behave.

Steven Karvellas

The NY Post reports, "Natural gas trader Steven Karvellas, a Nymex board member from 1996 to 2006, yesterday pleaded guilty to securities fraud and tampering with evidence and agreed to serve five months in jail. He will also pay $850,000 in penalties and fines. The former board member of the New York Mercantile Exchange and six others were busted yesterday for bilking commodity investors out of millions of dollars in a scam that involved bribery and evidence tampering."

Remy Smith

Laura Italiano of the NY Post reports "Trevor Smith, 35, of Baldwin, LI - has managed to stay out of jail despite a lengthy New York rap sheet - including a probation sentence in 1999 for possessing a loaded illegal handgun. Yesterday's sentencing covered his August 2005 kicking of fan Roberto Lebron after Lebron accidentally spit on a car in Busta's entourage at West 19th Street and Sixth Avenue. It also covered his December 2006 beatdown of his former driver, Eddie Hatchet, with whom he was arguing over back pay, as well as his admission to driving drunk on 11th Avenue in March 2007, and a minor license suspension. Cops seized a machete from Busta's car when he was arrested in 2006 - a weapon the rapper yesterday said he won't be reclaiming from cops."

Michael Izzo

Former NYC fireman Michael Izzo, 30, leaving court, will get one to three years on felony reckless endangerment. Izzo and fellow firefighter at the time pleaded guilty to dousing the bay door of their former midtown Manhattan station house with gasoline, lighting it, and then running away. Laura Italiano of the NY Post reports on this mind boggling story.

Stanislav Shmulevich

Stanislav Shmulevich leaves court after pleading guilty. Former Pace University student Shmulevich was originally arrested for flushing a copy of the Koran belonging to the university in a campus toilet last year. Read the NY Post editorial here. Shmulevich was sentenced to community service.

james barbour

James Barbour who once played the Beast in "Beauty and the Beast" on Broadway was sent to jail today for two months after previously having admitted to having sex with a 15 year old fan. NY Post reporter Laura Italiano reports on his day in court. He's seen entering court with his wife Dana. He left in hand cuffs with correction officers.

Frederick E. Guest II

Frederick E. Guest II leaves 100 Centre Street. He pleaded guilty to tax evasion and paid 1.42 million in back taxes. He paid a $20,000 fine. Newsday reports on his case.

Tenzing Bhutia

Tenzing Bhutia covers up as he leaves criminal court today after a
hearing. Bhutia has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in the
second degree in the death of Julia Thomson. The NY Post reports,
"gorgeous Julia Thomson, 24, suffered massive head injuries and
died almost instantly after Tenzing Bhutia, driving his father's
Mercedes, crashed into her as she crossed the Bowery at East Fourth
Street, authorities said."

Albert Johnson

G-Unit rapper Albert Johnson aka Prodigy outside 100 Centre Street before he turns himself in for sentencing on a gun rap charge. A 22-caliber handgun was found in his bulletproof Chevy Suburban last year. He was expected to be incarcerated for 3 1/2 years but was given a 2 month delay to get his medical problems in order since he has Sickle Cell Anemia. He is due back in court on Feburary 13.

Shawn Kovell

Shawn Kovell, the girlfriend of the preppy killer, Robert Chambers, busted for selling cocaine out of her upper east side apartment with Chambers pleaded guilty today to selling drugs in Manhattan Supreme Court. She will have to attend a drug rehab clinic for 18 months. Chambers remains behind bars awaiting trial.
