Tyra Banks and Brady Green

The New York Post reports, "The man on trial for stalking former supermodel-turned-TV talk show queen Tyra Banks was found guilty today. But he won't get any jail time and instead will get psychiatric help, a Manhattan judge ruled.

Bradley Green, 38, was arrested in March 2008 for harassing Banks at her Chelsea studios following the taping of her show.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge James Burke decided this morning that Green's actions were "knowingly and inherently invalid and the behavior was hounding."

The judge, however, opted not to sentence Green to 90 days in jail and instead ordered that the Georgia man get mental treatment.

In his bench-trial verdict, Burke said Green will have to return to court on June 18, where a place and length of treatment will be made known to him.

Burke said treatment -- not jail -- is "something that can help Green in the future."

Anthony and Charlene Marshall

Brooke Astor's son, Anthony Marshall and his wife Charlene leave 100 Centre Street after opening statements. The Brooke Astor swindle trial began Monday with Manhattan prosecutors promising jurors they'll hear testimony by some of the beloved philanthropist's most luminous friends, including Henry Kissinger, Barbara Walters and Annette de la Renta.

Shawn Kovell

Laura Italiano writes, for the NY Post, "After 22 years of sharing kisses through prison glass, countless bags of heroin and an indictment on felony cocaine sales, Shawn Kovell still loves her Preppy Killer.

Now, she can visit the notorious strangler, Robert Chambers, at an upstate maximum-security facility, a Manhattan judge ruled yesterday.

"She can go visit whoever she wishes," Justice Charles Solomon said as he sentenced Kovell to five years' probation for helping Chambers sell a half-pound of coke to undercover cops out of her East 57th Street apartment two years ago."

Bernie and Ruth Madoff

Bruce Golding of the NY Post writes, "Ruth Madoff today paid her first visit to her imprisoned hubby, Bernie.

The mega-swindler's wife arrived at 4:40 p.m. for a scheduled 5 p.m. visit at the Metropolitan Correction Center in lower Manhattan.
Ruth Madoff, 67, said nothing.

She wore a long black coat with the hood pulled up against a light rain.
Bernie, the admitted $65 billion Ponzi scheme kingpin, is being held there until his sentencing on June 16."

Madoff is seen entering the court for the last time on March 2nd. He will be in court again on June 16th. when he will most certainly be sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison.

Santo Petrocelli Sr.

The NY Times reports, "A prominent city electrical contractor with close ties to an indicted former assemblyman and labor union executive from Queens was himself indicted Friday on federal conspiracy and bribery charges.

The contractor, Santo Petrocelli Sr., whose company had long held street-lighting maintenance contracts worth several million dollars a year, is accused of bribing the former assemblyman and union leader, Brian M. McLaughlin, who until his indictment in October 2006 was the president of the New York City Central Labor Council. The indictment against Mr. McLaughlin, a seven-term assemblyman, accused him of illegally obtaining $2.2 million over a decade by misappropriating campaign contributions, embezzling union funds and taking bribes from businessmen, including Mr. Petrocelli, 74, who is known as Sandy."

Dan Wions

The NY Post reports, "A lucky musician is tooting his own $15,000 French horn again, thanks to some folks who were instrumental in getting it back after it was stolen from his car in the West Village.

"It's like a child to me," Dan Wions said yesterday.

Wions' precious instrument was slung in its case over his back as he came to Manhattan Criminal Court to testify before a grand jury against an alleged horn heister named -- no kidding -- Gabriel.

"I'd rather he stole the car instead of my horn," Wions said of the suspect, Gabriel Lee.

Wions, 29, of Hillsborough, NJ, left the custom instrument in the back seat of his car when he parked it on a West Village street two months ago -- and a thief tossed a brick through his window.

Cops said Lee quickly sold the distinctive horn to a Midtown music store for a measly $100, using his own name and address."

Anthony Marshall

Laura Italiano writes for the NY Post, "With his cane, unsteady gait, nice suits and cortege of lawyers and news photographers, Anthony Marshall -- the accused thieving son of philanthropist Brooke Astor -- turned a few heads this week as he hobbled in and out of Manhattan Criminal Court each day for jury selection.

The trouble for his defense is that a lot of casual onlookers seem to know who he is. And more than two weeks before opening arguments, some have already made up their minds about his guilt.

"Hey, that was his mother's money! That was his mother's money!" a guy in a baseball cap heckled from the courthouse steps yesterday morning as Marshall, 84, slowly shuffled past.

"Oh, Ken, did you hear that?" said Marshall's wife, Charlene, turning worriedly to one of her husband's defense lawyers, Kenneth Warner. "Can we get a fair trial?"

Anthony Marshall, the poor-little-rich-boy son of Brooke Astor wore a gray suit, light blue shirt, tasseled loafers and his U.S. Marines tie for the first day of his trial on charges of looting his late mother's $200 million estate.

His wife, Charlene, wore an understated outfit accented with Belgian slippers and a jacquard scarf and pearl earrings.
They were in stark contrast to the 100 prospective jurors paraded into Supreme Court Justice Kirke Bartley's courtroom wearing jeans and Kangol caps, hoodies and sneakers the size of bread loaves.

The NY Post reports, "In a plot twist worthy of reality TV, the "Real Housewives" star accused of assaulting her former boyfriend said yesterday that he was the one who started it.

Kelly Bensimon went on the offensive following a pretrial hearing in Manhattan court, saying her 30-year-old former beau shoved her after refusing to leave her SoHo apartment.

Bensimon stars on the Bravo show "Real Housewives of New York City," where she has earned a reputation as a hissing, claws-out socialite."

Ja Rule

The New York Times reports, "A rare alignment of stars occurred outside the Manhattan courthouse on Tuesday, as three celebrities, some perhaps better known than others, made appearances, attracting a throng of reporters and photographers.

The hubbub at 100 Centre Street in Manhattan started with an orderly buzz. Metal barricades starting at the door and extending all the way down the steps and onto the sidewalk kept a cluster of photographers and reporters at bay, like schoolchildren awaiting the bell."

Aleksander Vacaj and Artenida Gjeli

The NY Daily News reports, "An Albanian national accused of hiring two thugs to slash his ex-girlfriend's face will be cleared of all criminal charges after the woman Monday refused to testify against him.
Aleksander Vacaj hugged friends and family members as he walked out of a Manhattan courtroom when his ex, Artenida Gjeli, clammed up on the witness stand.
"I'm very happy that this is over," Vacaj said. "I never had anything to do with anything, and justice was done."
Felony coercion and attempted coercion charges against Vacaj were dismissed, and a remaining charge of aggravated harassment will be tossed next month as prosecutors said they had no case without Gjeli's cooperation.
"I am doing this on my own," Gjeli said after taking the Fifth Amendment.
Gjeli's face was slashed with a razor and a broken bottle at a Chinatown condo last May by two men who authorities said were hired by her spurned ex-boyfriend in search of payback.
An off-duty detective shot the attackers, killing one of them."

George Anderson

George Anderson, 48, was hauled away in handcuffs after his appearance in Manhattan criminal court to serve his 15-day jail sentence after he ran over Florence Cioffi, 59, last year on Water Street in the Financial District. He is seen entering court just before his sentencing.

Joseph Petcka and Lisa Altobelli

The NY Post reports, Notorious "self-defense" cat killer Joseph Petcka took the witness stand in Manhattan yesterday, describing his victim - Norman, the orange house tabby - as a raging, rearing, growling banshee.
Norman, his girlfriend's little kitty, brought on his own demise by attacking twice - maybe three times - that night in March 2007, Petcka told jurors.
The tall, dashing, out-of-work actor spoke so dramatically about little Norman's angry "stance" - and about how the cat "lunged" and "reared" and "threw me on my butt" - that for 90 minutes of testimony, it was almost possible to forget that Norman was fully declawed and weighed only 7 3/4 pounds. Ex-girlfriend Lisa Altobelli, owner of Norman took the stand yesterday.

Lil Wayne

The AP reports, a police officer said Monday she saw rapper Lil Wayne with a gun on his tour bus last year after a concert.

Officer Diane Hornung testified in a pretrial hearing that she had gotten on the bus on July 22, 2007, because she saw and smelled marijuana smoke wafting from the bus' open door.

Hornung said about 15 people boarded the bus around 11:30 p.m. after the Manhattan concert ended. She said the bus left the site of the concert a few minutes later, and police pulled it over about a dozen blocks away.

Julian Tzolov

The NY Post reports Julian Tzolov, the former Credit Suisse broker who was charged Wednesday with fraudulent sales of auction-rate securities, has returned to the US to face the music.
Tzolov had been in his native Bulgaria, confirmed Jim Margolin, a spokesman for the FBI's New York field office, which arrested Tzolov after he arrived at Kennedy Airport from Munich around 2 p.m. yesterday.

Dr. Robin Motz

Laura Italiano of the NY Post writes, He's $540,000 lighter, and he's legally barred from going anywhere near his mother.
But other than that, not much has changed for disgraced doctor Robin Motz, sentenced in Manhattan yesterday for scamming his 92-year-old mother out of more than $500,000.
Under his June plea deal, Motz, 69 - for 30 years an assistant attending internist at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center - must serve five years of probation and 150 hours community service. But he gets no jail time.

Robert Chambers

One of New York's most bizarre long-term romances played out its latest chapter in a Manhattan courtroom yesterday as "Preppy Killer" Robert Chambers was sentenced to 19 years in prison for heroin possession.
There, winking and smiling at him from the gallery, on leave from a residential drug rehab program in The Bronx, sat Shawn Kovell - bottle-blonde and buxom in a clingy black top. NY Post reporter Laura Ilaliano reports the story.

Tricia Walsh-Smith and Philip Smith

Tricia Walsh-Smith said "horrible, terrible things, and she did it for the world to see, in front of millions and millions of people," her husband's lawyer, David Aronson, said at the start of their divorce trial today. The "Bonkers" playwright's hubby, Philip Smith, hasn't uttered a word publicly since his wife slammed him in a now-infamous YouTube video in April.
"We never had sex. He said it was because he had high blood pressure," she said in the first of her online rants."I accepted that. Then last year . . . I found Viagra, porn movies and condoms."

The NY Post reports, "Jennifer Jones (with bag over face), half of a "Thelma and Louise" open-house robbery team, has agreed to plead guilty to grand larceny charges and spend a year seeing a therapist in lieu of going to the slammer. Jones, 33, will enter her plea on July 1, her lawyer and prosecutors said at a hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday. If she successfully completes the year of therapy, the charges against her will be dismissed. Had the case gone to trial, she could have ended up spending seven years in the Big House. Jones and pal Jessica Joyner (front), 39, were arrested last Nov. 24 and charged with swiping fancy furs, designer handbags, jewelry and cash while attending open houses of apartments for sale on the Upper East and Upper West sides and in New Jersey's Bergen County."

Renaldo Clarke

The NY Post reports."Renaldo Clarke, the second man to climb the New York Times Building Thursday, may be doomed to the fate suffered by Buzz Aldrin and Tenzing Norgay.
But the Brooklyn computer technician and amateur skyscraper climber insisted to prosecutors it was his idea, and that it was purely "a coincidence" that French daredevil Alain Robert beat him to Mt. Sulzberger."

James Delayo

The NY Post reports, "One of the city's top crane inspectors pocketed thousands of dollars in bribes from a construction firm while selling copies of the crane-operator exam, authorities charged yesterday.
James Delayo, assistant chief inspector for cranes, allegedly took cash for eight years to falsify reports claiming that cranes were inspected and operators properly licensed, the Department of Investigation said.
This blatant corruption by one of the Buildings Department's most senior men comes as questions swirl around the agency's ability to safely manage the city's building boom. There have been two deadly crane accidents within 10 weeks."

The NY Post reports, "A Manhattan doctor who pulled a "mini-Astor" - scamming his 92-year-old mother out of more than a half-million dollars to bankroll a luxurious lifestyle - took a plea deal yesterday that will keep him out of jail.
Dr. Robin Motz, an internist at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, agreed to a deal giving him five years' probation and requiring 150 hours of community service."

Steve Loeb, Mao, Kelly Bucala

According to the NY Post, "The owner of a rare Andy Warhol silk screen sobbed in court yesterday, recounting how his prized artwork was stolen and wrecked - allegedly by an employee at a neighborhood frame shop.
Steve Loeb could barely look at his beloved "Mao" print yesterday as it sat bent, creased and nearly damaged beyond recognition on an easel inside Manhattan Supreme Court.
Loeb had taken his rare silk screen to Frameworks on Great Jones Street to have new UV-protected glass installed early last year. When he went to pick it up on Feb. 6, the store owners couldn't find it.
Authorities eventually traced Loeb's stolen Warhol to 33-year-old store employee Kelly Bucala, of Brooklyn, who is facing grand-larceny charges."

Darin Blackburn

Laura Italiano of the NY Post reports, "A sticky-fingered Upper West Side bartender will be serving probation instead of drinks after pleading guilty yesterday to illegally charging $31,793.99 to the credit card of a famous customer - sax man David Sanborn.
Darin Blackburn, 40, had been a fixture behind the bar at Nick & Toni's Cafe on West 67th Street.
For a year and a half, the mixologist would be secretly delighted when Sanborn and other customers paid in cash. He'd pocket the money, then charge the tab to Sanborn's American Express card, which the restaurant kept on file."

Richard Dienst

Richard Dienst, 68 was charged with sexual abuse, forcible touching and harassment for the two alleged incidents inside his office at the Woolworth Building, where he is accused of putting the woman's hands on his crotch. He is seen leaving the back door of 100 Centre Street where a car was waiting for him after his arraignment and then sped away. The NY Post reports, "Court papers say Dienst was far more verbal on March 21, when he allegedly accosted a lawyer inside his office and placed his hands on her breasts. "I just want to see how great your tits look," the criminal complaint quotes him as saying. "I just want to feel how great your tits feel."" He then put his hand down the back of her pants and put her hand on his crotch, saying, "Look what you did to an old man. You made an old man's weekend," the complaint says.

Tenzing Bhutia

According to the NY Post, " He drank enough Sam Adams beer to hike his blood-alcohol level to twice the legal limit. Then he plowed his dad's new Mercedes into a beautiful, 24-year-old Scottish woman on The Bowery and sped away - home to bed - as she died in the street. For this, a 21-year-old finance major named Tenzing Bhutia was promised a two-year prison term yesterday. Bhutia was even allowed to remain free until his June 19 sentencing - that way, he'll get to finish his degree at Baruch College. "I put the blame for my daughter's death squarely in the hands of the US justice system," Bill Thomson said of the case involving his tragic only daughter, Julia, who died of massive head injuries in the predawn mow-down last September. "Driving under the influence is generally dealt with by a slap on the wrist as a first offense, so it fails to act as a deterrent," the grieving father told the Edinburgh Evening News in Scotland after learning of the sentence."

NY Post columnist Andrea Peyser writes, "Persistent sicko Jack Jordan, who ran a two-year campaign of love and terror against actress Uma Thurman, was convicted yesterday of stalking and aggravated harassment - but cleared of two additional counts of aggravated harassment." Jordan was handcuffed and taken from the court and sent to Rikers Island to await sentencing. He's seen for the last time entering court, moments before the jury's decesion.

Maryland-resident Jack Jordan, who faces up to a year in jail on misdemeanor stalking and aggravated harassment charges, said his bizarre missives to the "Kill Bill" star that described visions of an aborted fetus and drawings of razor blade meant no harm. Marquette looked spiffy in his very Brooks Brother style sport coat, a far cry from his disheveled look after he was arraigned on March 20th. charged with faking a report. A crane he was supposed to inspect later collapsed.

David Ajemian

David Ajemian, "Conan O'Brien's creepy stalker priest got off yesterday with a slap on the wrist. The Catholic priest, who menacingly stalked the carrot-topped TV host from California to New York to Italy, walked out of Manhattan Supreme Court a free man after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge. His punishment: a $95 fine and a promise to behave.

Steven Karvellas

The NY Post reports, "Natural gas trader Steven Karvellas, a Nymex board member from 1996 to 2006, yesterday pleaded guilty to securities fraud and tampering with evidence and agreed to serve five months in jail. He will also pay $850,000 in penalties and fines. The former board member of the New York Mercantile Exchange and six others were busted yesterday for bilking commodity investors out of millions of dollars in a scam that involved bribery and evidence tampering."

John Clifford

The NY Post reports, "Self-appointed Long Island Rail Road etiquette enforcer John Clifford lit a victory cigar outside a Manhattan courthouse yesterday - cleared of charges of harassment, attempted assault, attempted petit larceny and disorderly conduct, despite two days of testimony about his long history of expletive-laced screaming fits against cellphone-yapping fellow commuters."

Dr. Robin Motz

NY Post reports, "Dr. Robin Motz, who works at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, was indicted on charges that he scammed his 92-year-old mother out of nearly $1 million dollars - leaving her virtually penniless and on the brink of eviction from her Upper West Side coop. Motz, 64, who used power-of-attorney over his ailing mother's accounts to bilk her out of $832,453, is also being investigated to see if he used his knowledge of and access to prescription drugs to speed her demise, a high-level law-enforcement source said."

The NY Times reports, "A buildings inspector has been arrested and charged with faking a report that he visited a towering construction crane on the East Side of Manhattan on March 4 in response to a complaint. The inspector, the authorities said, never visited the crane, which toppled and killed seven people 11 days later. The buildings commissioner, said that all the cranes examined by the inspector who was arrested, Edward J. Marquette, 46, in the last six months would receive new inspections."

Yesterday's sentencing covered his August 2005 kicking of fan Roberto Lebron after Lebron accidentally spit on a car in Busta's entourage at West 19th Street and Sixth Avenue. It also covered his December 2006 beatdown of his former driver, Eddie Hatchet, with whom he was arguing over back pay, as well as his admission to driving drunk on 11th Avenue in March 2007, and a minor license suspension. Cops seized a machete from Busta's car when he was arrested in 2006 - a weapon the rapper yesterday said he won't be reclaiming from cops."
