Laura Italiano of the NY Post reports, "A sticky-fingered Upper West Side bartender will be serving probation instead of drinks after pleading guilty yesterday to illegally charging $31,793.99 to the credit card of a famous customer - sax man David Sanborn.
Darin Blackburn, 40, had been a fixture behind the bar at Nick & Toni's Cafe on West 67th Street.
For a year and a half, the mixologist would be secretly delighted when Sanborn and other customers paid in cash. He'd pocket the money, then charge the tab to Sanborn's American Express card, which the restaurant kept on file."

Richard Dienst

Richard Dienst, 68 was charged with sexual abuse, forcible touching and harassment for the two alleged incidents inside his office at the Woolworth Building, where he is accused of putting the woman's hands on his crotch. He is seen leaving the back door of 100 Centre Street where a car was waiting for him after his arraignment and then sped away. The NY Post reports, "Court papers say Dienst was far more verbal on March 21, when he allegedly accosted a lawyer inside his office and placed his hands on her breasts. "I just want to see how great your tits look," the criminal complaint quotes him as saying. "I just want to feel how great your tits feel."" He then put his hand down the back of her pants and put her hand on his crotch, saying, "Look what you did to an old man. You made an old man's weekend," the complaint says.

Tenzing Bhutia

According to the NY Post, " He drank enough Sam Adams beer to hike his blood-alcohol level to twice the legal limit. Then he plowed his dad's new Mercedes into a beautiful, 24-year-old Scottish woman on The Bowery and sped away - home to bed - as she died in the street. For this, a 21-year-old finance major named Tenzing Bhutia was promised a two-year prison term yesterday. Bhutia was even allowed to remain free until his June 19 sentencing - that way, he'll get to finish his degree at Baruch College. "I put the blame for my daughter's death squarely in the hands of the US justice system," Bill Thomson said of the case involving his tragic only daughter, Julia, who died of massive head injuries in the predawn mow-down last September. "Driving under the influence is generally dealt with by a slap on the wrist as a first offense, so it fails to act as a deterrent," the grieving father told the Edinburgh Evening News in Scotland after learning of the sentence."

Dareh Gregorian of the NY Post reports, "The peeved playwright who's been venting on YouTube about her ugly divorce from Shubert Organization head Philip Smith was in court yesterday, where she claimed she's now broke. Jack Jordan

NY Post columnist Andrea Peyser writes, "Persistent sicko Jack Jordan, who ran a two-year campaign of love and terror against actress Uma Thurman, was convicted yesterday of stalking and aggravated harassment - but cleared of two additional counts of aggravated harassment." Jordan was handcuffed and taken from the court and sent to Rikers Island to await sentencing. He's seen for the last time entering court, moments before the jury's decesion.

His punishment: a $95 fine and a promise to behave.

The NY Post reports, "Natural gas trader Steven Karvellas, a Nymex board member from 1996 to 2006, yesterday pleaded guilty to securities fraud and tampering with evidence and agreed to serve five months in jail. He will also pay $850,000 in penalties and fines. The former board member of the New York Mercantile Exchange and six others were busted yesterday for bilking commodity investors out of millions of dollars in a scam that involved bribery and evidence tampering."

John Clifford

The NY Post reports, "Self-appointed Long Island Rail Road etiquette enforcer John Clifford lit a victory cigar outside a Manhattan courthouse yesterday - cleared of charges of harassment, attempted assault, attempted petit larceny and disorderly conduct, despite two days of testimony about his long history of expletive-laced screaming fits against cellphone-yapping fellow commuters."

Dr. Robin Motz

NY Post reports, "Dr. Robin Motz, who works at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, was indicted on charges that he scammed his 92-year-old mother out of nearly $1 million dollars - leaving her virtually penniless and on the brink of eviction from her Upper West Side coop. Motz, 64, who used power-of-attorney over his ailing mother's accounts to bilk her out of $832,453, is also being investigated to see if he used his knowledge of and access to prescription drugs to speed her demise, a high-level law-enforcement source said."

The NY Times reports, "A buildings inspector has been arrested and charged with faking a report that he visited a towering construction crane on the East Side of Manhattan on March 4 in response to a complaint. The inspector, the authorities said, never visited the crane, which toppled and killed seven people 11 days later. The buildings commissioner, said that all the cranes examined by the inspector who was arrested, Edward J. Marquette, 46, in the last six months would receive new inspections."

Yesterday's sentencing covered his August 2005 kicking of fan Roberto Lebron after Lebron accidentally spit on a car in Busta's entourage at West 19th Street and Sixth Avenue. It also covered his December 2006 beatdown of his former driver, Eddie Hatchet, with whom he was arguing over back pay, as well as his admission to driving drunk on 11th Avenue in March 2007, and a minor license suspension. Cops seized a machete from Busta's car when he was arrested in 2006 - a weapon the rapper yesterday said he won't be reclaiming from cops."

The NY Post reports "Cecil "Katie" Suwal, 23, who prosecutors say kept the books of the Emperors Club VIP - while also supervising "date" bookers and recruiting new hookers, faces 20 years in prison on money-laundering and prostitution charges. Suwal who allegedly controlled the million-dollar international prostitution ring that brought down former Gov. Eliot Spitzer walked out of Manhattan federal lockup yesterday after signing off on a $500,000 bond."

Manhattan District Attorney Robert M. Morgenthau announced today the indictment of 11 persons for operating a fraudulent “medical mill” that bilked insurance companies of more than $6.2 million. Among the defendants, charged in an 84-count indictment with Enterprise Corruption and other criminal offenses, are three medical doctors, a chiropractor, two acupuncturists, and 10 corporations. At the top of the criminal enterprise’s hierarchy was Gregory Vinarsky. Vinarsky paid the “runners” to stage car accidents and bring uninjured passengers to the enterprise’s clinic.

Kevin Rios is walked into the Tombs by Police Detectives. According to the NY Daily News, "A brazen rapist who attacked a baby-sitter in Harlem and stole a pimp's car after assaulting a prostitute was nailed Friday by DNA evidence, police sources said.Kevin Rios, 21, of Manhattan, was busted in the Jan. 30 attack in Spanish Harlem. He allegedly followed a 34-year-old Jersey City woman into the building where she worked as a sitter and raped her in an elevator at knifepoint.Rios' DNA, which was on file from an unspecified previous conviction, matched that of the assailant, sources said. One source called Rios "very unrepentant, dangerous." "This guy has the potential to do much damage without a shred of guilt," the source said."

James Barbour who once played the Beast in "Beauty and the Beast" on Broadway was sent to jail today for two months after previously having admitted to having sex with a 15 year old fan. Tenzing Bhutia covers up as he leaves criminal court today after a
hearing. Bhutia has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in the
second degree in the death of Julia Thomson. The NY Post reports,
"gorgeous Julia Thomson, 24, suffered massive head injuries and
died almost instantly after Tenzing Bhutia, driving his father's
Mercedes, crashed into her as she crossed the Bowery at East Fourth
Street, authorities said."

The NY Post reports, "O'Hare and Daloia were stopped late Tuesday afternoon after they wheeled the 66-year-old Cintron's clearly lifeless body in a desk chair to a check-cashing place on Ninth Avenue. The wacky stunt caught the attention of several passers-by and a police detective eating in a nearby restaurant. "He was completely lifeless and not moving and I watched them struggling with the body for a few minutes," said NYPD Detective Travis Rapp. "I saw the body and I said, 'Well, this is a dead guy.' I honestly thought it was a joke." Cintron appears to have died of natural causes sometime late Monday, officials said. He had suffered from Parkinson's disease for many years and had withered to just 95 pounds.'"

G-Unit rapper Albert Johnson aka Prodigy outside 100 Centre Street before he turns himself in for sentencing on a gun rap charge. A 22-caliber handgun was found in his bulletproof Chevy Suburban last year. He was expected to be incarcerated for 3 1/2 years but was given a 2 month delay to get his medical problems in order since he has Sickle Cell Anemia. He is due back in court on Feburary 13.

Diane Wells

Diane Wells exits 100 Centre Street after a court appearance. The NY Post exclusively reports, "A greedy trust-fund transsexual - convicted last year of roughing up her elderly heiress mother in a fight over her millions - has been arrested for plotting to kill her brother." "In April 2006, Wells, born Jonathan Green Cheney, was convicted of assaulting her mother. She broke the octogenarian widow's arm because the elderly women refused to change her will and make Wells the sole beneficiary." She will have to attend a drug rehab clinic for 18 months. Chambers remains behind bars awaiting trial.

Francis X. Morrissey Jr.

Francis X. Morrissey Jr., 65, surrendered to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office this morning to face numerous charges, including forgery, scheme to defraud and conspiracy. Jessica Joyner

Jessica Joyner leaves court after being charged with grand larceny, attempted grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. The Post reports Joyner was arrested with friend and accomplice Jennifer Jones.

Anthony Dryden Marshall

Hair raising day for Anthony Dryden Marshall as he is escorted by detectives into Criminal Court to face charges of fraud, forgery and grand larceny relating to the handling of Brooke Astor's will and financial affairs. Mr Marshall is the only son of Brooke Astor, who died last August at 105. Astor was an philanthropist and socialite, who's estate was estimated to be worth close to 200 million dollars when she died. As you can see it was a fairly windy day. I had shot a lot of photos and frankly had enough, but then I got a second wind as his hair raised slowly almost as if it were doing a pirouette. The top image appeared on the cover of the NY Post but the other gets right to the point.

David Ajemian

David Ajemian, a Boston priest leaves court after his arraignment. The NY Post details the story. Prosecutors said he was arrested for sending threatening notes to talk show host Conan O'Brien. "I want a public confession before I ever consider giving you absolution-or a spot on your couch," wrote Aljemian, who signed the notes "Padre" said a spokesman for the Manhattan District Attorney.

Remy Smith

Rapper Remy Smith aka Remy Ma leaves court after a control date. The Grammy nominated rapper awaits trial. The NY Post reports, "Hip-hop hellion Remy Ma - already facing up to 25 years on charges she shot her girlfriend in the stomach in a money dispute - was slammed yesterday with witness-tampering and gang-assault charges."

Rapper Jeff Atkins aka Ja Rule, enters Manhattan Criminal Court for his court appearance. Laura Italiano of the NY Post reports, "Four rappers with the same taste in Cadillacs - along with the same court date and 9:30 a.m. appearance time - rolled up to the granite, Centre Street building, arriving more or less on time. Each was trailed by one or more lawyers, bodyguards, glowering additional posse members, jostling news photographers, doting, cellphone-photo-snapping fans and supporters, including rapper Birdman. Co-defendants Ja Rule and Lil Wayne got updates on their gun possession case."

Noel Luria

Noel Luria leaves court after being sentenced to probation. An insurance broker who said he was playing with his bow to celebrate his birthday previously pleaded guilty to charges related to shooting an arrow through a Manhattan neighbor's glass terrace door.
